Queen Latifah Takes Center Stage in Good American’s Bold New American Icons Campaign.
Who could be more perfect than Queen Latifah as the newest face of Good American’s American Icons campaign.

Queen Latifah has been revealed as the latest face of Good American’s American Icons campaign. The retailer made the announcement on Instagram on October 24, showcasing the multi-talented music and film star as their newest ambassador.
“Presenting American Icon @queenlatifah for Good American. Queen is a trailblazer who has revolutionized the entertainment industry, shattering barriers in music, film, and television,” the company shared.
Shot by acclaimed photographer Cass Bird and styled by Julia Sarr-Jamois, the campaign showcases Queen Latifah in a fall-inspired look that nods to her iconic ’90s “Living Single” style, featuring oversized blazers and denim with a contemporary twist.
“What defines an icon? It’s being so authentically yourself that people can’t help but say, ‘Damn, who is that?’” Latifah remarks in the video campaign shared on Instagram.
“I stand for women. I stand for my beautiful Blackness. I stand for humanity,” she added.
According to ABC News, Queen Latifah was the perfect fit for the campaign, celebrating trailblazing women who have broken barriers and paved the way for others. The new Icon collection, featuring sizes from XXS to 5XL, ranges in price from $59 for T-shirts to $269 for faux leather trench coats.
“American Icon Queen Latifah is a trailblazer who has reshaped the entertainment industry, pushing boundaries in music, film, and television,” Good American stated. “With Grammy wins, an Academy Award nomination, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, her legacy of strength and empowerment encourages everyone to embrace their uniqueness. We’re proud to highlight her as the true definition of an icon.”
The campaign comes on the heels of Queen Latifah’s announcement about the biopic she’s producing with her Flavor Unit Entertainment partner Shakim Compere, in collaboration with Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Jesse Collins Entertainment. The project emphasizes the impact of hip-hop and its pivotal role in launching their careers.
“We all entered this industry together, and Hip Hop has influenced every one of us,” Latifah and Compere shared in a statement announcing the project and their partnership with longtime friend Will Smith.
“Hip Hop’s influence has grown far beyond music, leaving a lasting mark on culture and society as a whole. It’s a dream to work alongside friends and colleagues who not only share this understanding but are also able to bring to life the stories that shaped our experiences.”
The newest milestone in her groundbreaking career came last week when she received the 2023 National Medal of Arts from President Joe Biden. In a private White House ceremony, Queen Latifah was one of nine honorees, becoming the second rapper, after Missy Elliott, to earn this prestigious award.
Missy and Queen Latifah received their awards together this year, as the 2022 recipients’ ceremony was delayed due to the pandemic.
“And a BiG CONGRATS to my sis @IAMQUEENLATIFAH, who deserve all the bouquets she also was honored today!” Missy tweeted. “Thank you for kicking down doors QUEEN for me & those after you🙏🏾🫶🏾”
