Queen Latifah Checks DJ Akademiks for Disrespectful Comments Towards Black Women

In a recent Instagram Story, Queen Latifah made her disapproval of DJ Akademiks’ controversial online behavior known, aligning herself with those who have criticized his derogatory remarks towards Black women. The original post, shared by @mysonnenygeneral, highlighted the stark contrast between Akademiks’ reluctance to engage with Saucy Santana, a gay man, out of fear of being “canceled,” and his history of making outrageous, offensive, and disrespectful comments towards Black women without hesitation.

The post also drew parallels to Malcolm X’s famous quote, “the most disrespected, unprotected and neglected person [in] America is the Black woman,” further underscoring the concerns raised about Akademiks’ actions. Although Queen Latifah did not provide an additional caption, her stance on the problematic DJ Akademiks was unmistakable.

Queen Latifah’s repost came shortly after DJ Akademiks found himself embroiled in a social media feud with Saucy Santana, during which he cried during a livestream. Akademiks claimed that he had reached out to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to discuss Santana’s music’s certification, and he spoke with several executives about it. According to Akademiks, they informed him that Santana’s album had achieved a record-breaking “fifteen times plastic” certification, a first in the industry, with a sarcastic remark about the previous record achieving only a “double styrofoam” certification.

Saucy Santana responded angrily to Akademiks, questioning his need to constantly discuss Yung Miami and warning him that he could face repercussions for his actions. Santana even challenged Akademiks to a physical altercation, publicly advertising their intentions.

Akademiks responded by making hostile remarks, including threats of physical violence and derogatory comments. He invited Santana to confront him at his headquarters and engaged in further inappropriate dialogue. Santana’s continued challenges seemed to provoke a visibly emotional response from Akademiks during the livestream.

This incident is just one of many in which DJ Akademiks has engaged in online battles. Known for his trolling of celebrities and the regular deployment of ruthless commentary and cruel jokes, Akademiks has repeatedly drawn criticism for his divisive and offensive behavior on social media.
