Jazmin continued, “The judges failed to credit her difficulty, forcing an inquiry. Her bronze was taken away over 4 seconds that wouldn’t have been an issue if the judges had done their job.”
Jazmin clarified that the racism she was calling out came from public comments, not the Olympic committee. However, she pointed out that Chiles was still facing the typical treatment from the committee.
She added, “…In the HISTORY of the Olympics, NO ONE has ever been stripped of their medal for this. There are only TWO reasons a medal can be taken away: cheating or doping. She did neither…Just give the other girls a bronze and leave it at that! Period.”
Chiles, who still secured gold in the all-around Gymnastics finals, has stayed off social media to protect her mental health amid the controversy. While she remains offline, the Olympic & Paralympic Committee has continued to fight on her behalf, but CAS rejected their appeal of the new ruling.
