Meet Noelia Voigt: Miss USA 2023’s Strong Contender at Miss Universe 2023.

Noelia Voigt from Utah made headlines when she clinched the title of Miss USA 2023 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, on September 29. With her national victory celebrated in just under two months, the spotlight is now on her prospects at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant on November 18.

Voigt’s remarkable triumph at Miss USA involved her outshining fellow contestants, ultimately earning her the crown, leaving behind runner-ups Miss Hawaii, Savannah Gankiewicz, and Miss Wisconsin, Alexis Loomans.

Now, with over 80 contestants gathered in El Salvador for the 72nd edition of the Miss Universe final ceremony on Saturday, Noelia Voigt’s chances appear to be somewhat limited. According to a list of frontrunners compiled by the local outlet La Prensa Grafica, the current Miss USA finds herself just on the cusp of the top 20 favorites, occupying the 21st position.

According to this ranking, the top three favorites are as follows: Miss Puerto Rico’s Karla Guilfú Acevedo, Brazil’s Maria Brechane, and Cambodia’s Sotima John. Interestingly, at the sixth spot in the rankings is Venezuela’s Diana Silva, a contestant who shares a similar background with Voigt, as she also holds Venezuelan nationality, thanks to her mother’s heritage.

Noelia Voigt: A Product of Venezuelan Heritage, Born in Florida, and Now Representing Utah

Noelia Voigt’s connection to Utah is relatively recent. In fact, she didn’t call the state her home until April 2023. Her birthplace is Sarasota, Florida, where she was born to parents with diverse backgrounds. Her mother, Jackeline Coromoto Briceño, hails from Maracaibo, Venezuela, while her father, Jack Voigt, is an American who previously played for Venezuela’s Aguilas del Zulia during the offseason in his former Major League Baseball (MLB) career.

Jack Voigt maintained his connections with Venezuela for an extended period. In his role as the batting coach for the Venezuelan national baseball team, he contributed to the South American country’s efforts in the 2013 Caribbean Baseball Series.

During her high school years, Noelia Voigt enrolled at Pine View School in Osprey, Florida. Following her high school education, she pursued her aspirations by earning a degree as a licensed aesthetician at the University of Alabama.

Noelia Voigt’s path to claiming the Miss USA 2023 title unfolded through a captivating journey. This remarkable journey began when R’Bonney Gabriel, the initial Miss USA 2022 winner who later triumphed in the Miss Universe pageant, passed the crown to Noelia Voigt. The transition was gracefully orchestrated by Morgan Romano, who handed over the prestigious crown.

Noelia’s triumph can be traced back to her eloquent response, where she outlined the significant contributions she would bring to the Miss Universe organization as its “brand ambassador.”

As a bilingual Venezuelan-American woman, my intention is to forge connections with the diverse communities across the United States of America. In this remarkably diverse nation, a Miss USA must be capable of representing every community, regardless of their origins, race, ethnicity, or any other factors. I aspire to be that Miss USA.

Her eloquent and carefully crafted answer struck a chord with the judges, significantly contributing to her victory. Now, as Miss USA 2023, Voigt holds the esteemed role of being a prominent ambassador for the United States. She engages in advocacy, philanthropic endeavors, and competes for the coveted title of Miss Universe 2023.
