Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson Transition into Co-Parenting Roles

Actress Jodie Turner-Smith has initiated divorce proceedings against Joshua Jackson, her husband of four years. The legal documents, filed in Los Angeles and acquired by E! News on October 2, cite “irreconcilable differences” as the grounds for their separation. Jodie has requested joint custody of their 3-year-old daughter, and the paperwork indicates that the couple separated on September 13.

In a previous interview with E! News in March, Joshua, aged 45, offered insights into his relationship with the 37-year-old Jodie, whom he secretly married in August 2019 while she was pregnant with their first child, whose name has not been publicly disclosed. He described their home life as focused on family and their child, highlighting the joy of parenting together.

Jodie has also shared glimpses of their relationship, particularly the early days when it was kept private. In an interview with Bustle in December 2022, she mentioned that her secret marriage and pregnancy became a significant topic of public interest, possibly due to her marriage to a white public figure with decades of media attention.

Despite their romantic separation, Jodie and Joshua remain committed to co-parenting their daughter. In December, Jodie emphasized her acceptance of the challenges that come with fame and her dedication to being a great mother while pursuing her career. She praised Joshua for his unwavering support in balancing both roles.

Jodie seems to be embracing her new chapter positively. Recently, she enjoyed time in Milan for a fashion week event and shared her experiences on Instagram, expressing pride in witnessing the event with her mother.
