Nicki Minaj reschedules her album release for December.
Pink Friday 2,” Minaj’s inaugural album in over five years, is set to be released on December 8, coinciding with Minaj’s 41st birthday.

Nicki Minaj enthusiasts will need to exercise a bit more patience for her upcoming album. The renowned rapper has revealed that she’s pushing back the album’s release to December.
According to Billboard, Minaj has officially announced that “Pink Friday 2” will be released on December 8th. This marks the third adjustment to the album’s release date. Originally, “Pink Friday 2,” a follow-up to Minaj’s 2010 debut album, was scheduled for an October 20th release but was later shifted to November 17th. The latest change is intended to avoid a clash with her longtime mentor and collaborator, Lil Wayne, who is dropping his own sequel album on November 17th. Lil Wayne, along with rapper 2 Chainz, is releasing their second collaborative album titled “Welcome 2 Collegrove.”
Minaj selected December 8th as the fresh album release date, coinciding with her 41st birthday. She described the album as “the most significant gift I’ve ever bestowed upon humanity to date,” and she expressed that the release date holds special significance for both herself and her fans, whom she affectionately refers to as the Barbz.
In addition to the revised album launch date, Minaj also unveiled a new fragrance associated with Pink Friday 2. This fragrance will be accessible on December 13th through Amazon and on December 26th at J.C. Penney.
“Pink Friday 2” marks Minaj’s return to the music scene after a hiatus of more than five years. Her previous album, “Queen,” was released in 2018 and included the platinum-certified hit single “Chun-Li.” Minaj explained that her extended break between albums was partly due to writer’s block and her reluctance to compose “provocative” lyrics during her pregnancy.
While Minaj has not disclosed a tracklist for “Pink Friday 2,” she has released two singles ahead of the album. “Super Freaky Girl” dropped in 2022 and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She premiered her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You,” during a 2023 MTV Video Music Awards performance. She also premiered a sneak peek of an untitled song that’s believed to be on the album.
