Dannii Minogue Embraces Queer Identity, Celebrates Courageous Contestants on Groundbreaking Dating Show ‘I Kissed A Girl’

Dannii Minogue held back tears of pride during the launch of the new gay dating show “I Kissed A Girl,” where she revealed that she identifies as queer. The show, which debuts this May, features ten single women living together in a luxurious Italian villa, hoping to find romance. Following last year’s male version, “I Kissed A Boy,” Dannii remarked on the surreal nature of not having a similar show for lesbian and bisexual women until now.
During the series launch, Dannii Minogue stated, “This is so important. Until now, there hasn’t been a reality gay dating show for women. It’s crucial that this happens. I’m hoping it sparks celebrations across the country.” Additionally, the presenter disclosed her own queer identity, inspired by contestants expressing their attraction to her in the show’s first episode.
She stated, “In a weird way, I identify as queer.”

When a contestant, Amy from Surrey, mentioned that Dannii is “just my type,” Dannii was questioned about her attraction to women. She responded with a laugh in the episode, “You girls are hot. You know it. I love it. I’m here for it. Does that answer your question?”
Dannii, who mentioned losing some fans after starting to host “I Kissed A Boy,” expressed her hope for the series to earn more accolades.
“I really want this to succeed,” she said. “Everyone has put everything on the line. I hope we see more seasons, giving more women the chance to have this experience.”
Fighting back tears, she continued, “You girls are so brave and amazing and have contributed so much. I could never do what you’ve done. I will always be in awe of what has happened and what we’ve created together. I’m so proud of you. You’re the pioneers in this space, and it’s a significant step.”
Earlier in the week, the ten single contestants were introduced, including a professional footballer, a fire breather, and a drummer.
Fans were thrilled when the first teaser trailer dropped for the lesbian dating show “I Kissed A Girl,” hosted by Dannii Minogue.
Dannii announced the news on social media, stating, “Hi… my name is Cupid, and this year I’m aiming more love arrows in Italy… this time for the girls. #IKissedAGirl, coming soon.”
An enthusiastic fan responded, “I can’t wait to watch this! So excited!”
The producers have announced that the new series will deliver drama, break stereotypes, and feature more unexpected twists than before.
The show puts a unique twist on the “I Kissed A…” format by having the contestants kiss their partner before they even speak to each other.
Couples are matched based on their preferences in a partner, and their chemistry is immediately tested to see if the initial kiss can blossom into love.
