Rihanna and A$AP Rocky turned their Puma ambassadorship into a heartfelt moment at the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem, surprising kids with sneakers and apparel from the iconic brand.
On Dec. 5, the superstar duo handed out Puma sneakers, clothing, accessories, and more to over 200 club members, according to Footwear News. Joining the celebration were Dapper Dan, Danielle Guizio, Colm Dillane, and Emory Jones, who mingled with the kids and captured the special moments in photos.
The event took place just a day after Rocky received the Collaboration of the Year award with Puma at the Footwear News Achievement Awards. The honor, presented by Emory Jones, came eight years after Rihanna won Shoe of the Year in 2016 for her Fenty Puma Creeper.
“This is honestly one of the best accomplishments ever,” Rocky shared during his acceptance speech. “I was inspired watching my lady receive this nearly a decade ago. She inspires me so much.”
He added, “Being with Puma and creating collaborations feels like such a gift. I never thought this was even possible. And now, look at us! It felt like something was missing in the market—and it was me.”
In October, Rocky debuted his latest Puma collection as creative director, featuring footwear, apparel, and accessories inspired by racing. He shared that his partnership with Puma came naturally, influenced in part by Rihanna’s long-standing collaboration with the brand.
“The collaboration came together after years of manifesting it,” Rocky told Paper Magazine. “With my girl already partnering with Puma, it just feels so natural for me now.”
“It began as an effort to bridge the gap between motorsport and sportswear,” Rocky explained. “But it evolved into a whirlwind of ideas that went beyond motorsport, exceeding all expectations.”
Rihanna’s connection with Puma began a decade ago when she became a brand ambassador and creative director in 2014. She started launching collections under the Fenty x Puma label in 2016.
Now, as a dynamic duo, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are using their Puma collaborations to inspire and uplift the next generation.
