Hailey Bieber steals the spotlight after Rhode’s billion-dollar sale.

Justin Bieber celebrated Hailey Bieber’s $1 billion sale of her Rhode Skin company to e.l.f. Beauty with a playful Instagram snap. Just weeks after facing backlash for his odd congratulations on her Vogue cover, the 31-year-old pop star shared a much sweeter moment. He looked overjoyed as he kissed her cheek and wrapped his arm around her.

In the photo, Hailey smiled brightly, gazing at the camera while relaxing in her husband’s arms. The post came just as Hailey celebrated the successful sale of her beauty brand, just three years after its launch.

e.l.f. Chairman and CEO Tarang Amin confirmed the news on Wednesday through a statement to Business Wire.

“e.l.f. Beauty found a like-minded disruptor in Rhode,” Amin said. “Rhode adds to our portfolio with a rapidly growing brand that brings prestige within reach.”

“We’re thrilled by Rhode’s ability to break beauty barriers, fully aligning with e.l.f. Beauty’s vision of creating a different kind of company,” said Amin. “Rhode is a stunning brand, and we believe it’s poised for explosive growth.”

Hailey will continue her role as founder, Chief Creative Officer, and Head of Innovation, as confirmed by Business Wire.

After the announcement, Hailey took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the game-changing deal.

“When I launched @rhode in 2022, I had big dreams for the company. The most important thing to me is expanding Rhode to more spaces, places, and faces globally,” she captioned the post, which featured two photos of herself.

“Today, I’m beyond excited and proud to announce our partnership with e.l.f. Beauty as we enter this new chapter for Rhode.

“I’ve found a like-minded disruptor with a vision to build a different kind of company—one that shares my belief in big ideas and innovation, and will help us continue to grow the brand,” she added.

“I feel energized, excited, and more ready than ever to take on an even bigger role as Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation at Rhode, as well as a strategic advisor to e.l.f. Beauty.”

In her post, Hailey also expressed gratitude for her dedicated team at Rhode, acknowledging that she “couldn’t have done it” without their support.

She also took time to thank consumers.

“As I’ve said, this is only the beginning,” Hailey concluded.

Justin quickly reshared the post, but notably, he refrained from adding his own caption following the backlash from his comments about her recent Vogue cover.

e.l.f. Cosmetics is available in various stores, including Ulta and Walmart, offering a wide range of affordable makeup products. Over the past year, celebrities like Jennifer Coolidge have served as spokespeople for the brand.

In the last 12 months, Rhode generated $212 million in net sales, according to Fortune.

The deal was announced just a month after Hailey enlisted J.P. Morgan and global investment bank Moelis to explore potential deals valued at $1 billion, sources told WWD.

While some sources questioned whether the deal would happen, drawing comparisons to other celebrity-backed beauty brands like Makeup by Mario and Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty, Rhode’s success continues.

This fall, Rhode will expand into Sephora, launching at all locations across the U.S., Canada, and the UK.

Justin Bieber’s recent success follows her Vogue cover this month, a moment overshadowed by a personal revelation from her husband. He recounted a past argument where he cruelly told her she would never grace the cover of Vogue. Reflecting on the incident, he admitted, “I thought I had to retaliate because I felt disrespected, but as we grow, we learn that seeking revenge doesn’t lead to what we truly desire—intimacy and connection.”

He ended his post with a message directly to Hailey, saying, “So baby, you already know, but forgive me for saying you wouldn’t get a Vogue cover because clearly, I was sadly mistaken.”

Many saw his message as a backhanded compliment and felt it was “unnecessary” to share with his 294 million Instagram followers. Although he intended to be humorous by admitting he was “clearly mistaken,” his followers didn’t find it funny, and the comments quickly filled with criticism. In response to the backlash, Justin deleted the caption and replaced it with a shrugging emoji.
