Madonna puts up a reward for her stolen Coachella costume, saying, “These aren’t just outfits—they’re pieces of my history.”

Madonna became the victim of theft after her surprise appearance on the main stage of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio last Friday.

Following her performance of “Vogue,” “Like a Prayer,” and an unreleased track alongside headliner Sabrina Carpenter, several costumes from her personal archive were reportedly taken by an unknown thief.

“I discovered that the vintage pieces that I wore went missing,” the 67-year-old icon, who has 56.2 million social media followers, shared on her Instagram Story Monday.

“Jacket, corset, dress, and every other piece—they’re not just clothing, they’re part of my personal history. Other archival items from that same era have also gone missing.”

The Material Girl singer added, “I’m hoping and praying that a kind-hearted person finds these items and contacts my team at infomaverick2026@gmail.com. I’m offering a reward for their safe return—thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

In fact, Madonna was seen re-wearing the purple leather Gucci bomber jacket and matching knee-high boots she originally wore at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2005.

It’s surprising that no one from the seven-time Grammy winner’s extensive glam team—including stylist Rita Melssen, hairstylist Matt Benns, makeup artist Marcelo Gutierrez, and three fashion assistants—was able to keep watch over her costumes backstage.

Authorities, however, do not believe that Madonna was specifically targeted in the theft.

A spokesperson for the Indio Police Department told TMZ on Monday, “On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 7:32 p.m., a missing property report was filed.”

Authorities said the lost items—clothing and jewelry—were last seen on a golf cart at the Empire Polo Club grounds shortly after 1:30 a.m. during the second weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Investigators added that the two bags may have fallen off a staff-operated golf cart while being transported for loading onto a bus. The loss was only discovered once the team arrived back at their hotel.

Police further noted there is no evidence suggesting the bags were deliberately stolen.

Meanwhile, Madonna reflected on what she described as a “full-circle moment,” revisiting her 2006 performance at the Sahara Tent during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where she showcased her 10th studio album Confessions on a Dance Floor.

“Still riding the high from Friday night at Coachella!” the two-time Golden Globe Award winner said with excitement.

“Last night felt like something out of a dream. We spent so much time laughing, and sharing the stage with you was a moment I’ll always treasure,” Sabrina Carpenter concluded.

Madonna—who is set to release Confessions On A Dance Floor: Part II on July 3—previously faced a life-threatening health scare in 2023, when she was hospitalized for a serious bacterial infection and placed in a medically induced coma for 48 hours.

On May 2, the twice-divorced mother of six will mark the 30th birthday of her partner, Akeem Morris, who joined her at the desert music festival to watch Anyma perform.

The pop icon and the Jamaican-born soccer coach have now been together for nearly two years.

The Italian-American icon is rumored to be making a return to acting after posting a photo of herself reading a script in Venice on March 17—around the same time Seth Rogen was shooting season two of his hit The Studio.

It also remains uncertain whether Madonna is still collaborating with producer Shawn Levy on a Netflix limited series about her life and music, which was said to be in early development last year.

The project is separate from the self-directed biopic Who’s That Girl, which would star Julia Garner and was co-written by the two-time Golden Globe Award winner alongside Erin Cressida Wilson after it was previously shelved by Universal Pictures.

Madonna has also directed two critically panned films in the past—Filth and Wisdom (2008) and W.E. (2011).

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who draws an average of 46.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, remains the best-selling female recording artist of all time and holds the record as the most successful solo act in the history of the US Billboard Hot 100, with 44 No. 1 singles.
