Cheyenne Bryant Says Argosy Shutdown Wiped Her PhD Records.

Life coach and media personality Dr. Cheyenne Bryant is facing scrutiny after claiming in a Breakfast Club interview that Argosy University’s closure erased records of her doctorate and dissertation. Her statement has drawn attention online, with many questioning how academic records could be affected by the institution’s shutdown.

She made the claim during her November 2024 appearance on The Breakfast Club, where she discussed relationships, “high value” men, and her television projects. The interview has since resurfaced, fueling renewed public interest in her academic background.

Bryant has long linked her credentials to Argosy University, noting in her official biography that she pursued a doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the school. Argosy University later became part of one of the most high-profile higher education closures in recent years, following widespread institutional and financial issues.

Argosy University abruptly shut down in 2019 after its parent company, Dream Center Education Holdings, entered receivership.

According to Federal Student Aid, most Dream Center schools—including Argosy campuses—stopped offering instruction on March 8, 2019.

The sudden closure left students and alumni scrambling to obtain transcripts, explore transfer opportunities, clarify accreditation concerns, and secure proof of their academic work.

The closure was especially disruptive for psychology students and graduates. American Psychological Association said it was “deeply concerned” about the impact on Argosy’s students, faculty, staff, and alumni, and released guidance to address questions about accreditation, degree completion, and access to student records.

It also stated that it was working to help doctoral psychology students transition into other APA-accredited programs to continue and complete their education.

Still, Bryant’s claim that all proof of her doctorate and dissertation was wiped out has not been independently verified based on available public records reviewed.

However, some official channels suggest that former Argosy University students may still be able to request transcripts through third-party or state agencies.

For instance, Wisconsin’s Department of Safety and Professional Services directs former students to obtain official records through Parchment, while Texas officials have stated they are in the process of obtaining and processing copies of Argosy-Dallas transcripts for former students.
