CEO Taelor Salmon Champions Wealth Building for Minority Women Entrepreneurs.
TJS Group CEO urges minority businesses to partner with federal agencies for long-term stability.

As National Financial Literacy Month kicks off, TJS Group CEO Taelor Salmon leverages her experience as an entrepreneur and investor to inspire minority women business owners to pursue financial freedom and create generational wealth.
As the founder of a government contracting firm, Salmon advocates for more opportunities for underrepresented entrepreneurs in fields like federal contracting, real estate, development, and IT security. Despite the challenges many women face, she emphasized in a press release that “it all starts with knowledge.
After years of running her minority-owned business, she now empowers minority women entrepreneurs to scale their businesses by leveraging government contracts and investing in real estate to build community and family wealth. Salmon has committed to her role as a mentor for clients seeking to navigate various sectors and grow financially.
“Financial freedom starts with identifying a need—one that generates short-term revenue and supports long-term investments, leading to lasting wealth,” said Salmon. “I’m committed to sharing my journey, shaped by the wisdom passed down through generations. Achieving financial freedom is about not just doing the work, but focusing on the need, impact, and value we create. Oral tradition and shared knowledge are crucial for sustaining financial freedom and generational wealth. Knowledge is power, and I’m excited to share the insights, strategies, and lessons that have guided my success.”
In January, the entrepreneur shared with AFRO American Newspapers that business owners should explore government contracts for long-term stability. Her advice to minority businesses is to get familiar with government agencies, build relationships with the Small Business Administration, and network with others in the procurement field.
Last April, Salmon was invited by the Urban Professionals Community to share her expertise on federal contracting and business growth. Key highlights from her discussion included the value of certifications to set a business apart, crafting a compelling capability statement and “why,” and leveraging partnerships to gain access.
Salmon’s sharp ability to identify opportunities has led to the expansion of her business ventures and mentorship efforts. As stated on her website, her dedication to innovation and impact has enabled her to successfully scale businesses and create sustainable investments. An advocate for the National Fair Housing in Washington, D.C., Salmon supports efforts to help individuals invest in real estate and build wealth. In February, TJS Group announced a new federal contract to provide project scheduler support to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Seattle District, assisting project managers with development, maintenance, optimization, data quality, budget tracking, and new training initiatives.
