The iconic game show “Family Feud” has welcomed a groundbreaking new showrunner, Myeshia Mizuno, who now leads both the syndicated version and ABC’s prime-time “Celebrity Family Feud.”

Mizuno’s appointment is historic, making her the first Black woman to helm a prime-time game show. In an interview with Variety, the avid game show enthusiast discussed her approach to the role and respect for the show’s legacy. “It’s a challenge I’m ready to tackle,” she remarked, likening her task to “fine-tuning a well-oiled machine.” Her plans include subtle enhancements such as offering vacation packages as prizes and creating a more inviting backstage environment for celebrity contestants.

Bringing a wealth of television production experience, Mizuno enriches “Family Feud.” Her diverse career includes producing “Judge Judy,” developing court shows, and contributing to ABC’s revival of “Supermarket Sweep.” This varied background uniquely qualifies her to guide the beloved game show into its next phase.

Steve Harvey, the charismatic host of “Family Feud,” expressed strong confidence in Mizuno. He praised her seamless integration and management skills, emphasizing the significance of her role. “This show is iconic… You can’t afford to mess it up… All eyes are on her,” Harvey noted. Confident in Mizuno’s abilities, Harvey had previously collaborated with her on ABC’s Emmy-nominated “Judge Steve Harvey,”

The upcoming season of “Celebrity Family Feud” is set to dazzle viewers with a star-studded lineup, featuring celebrities like Megan Thee Stallion, Ne-Yo, and prominent sports figures. Exciting matchups include Meghan Trainor facing off against Tori Kelly and a special showdown titled “Golden Bachelor.”

Later in the season, viewers can anticipate thrilling episodes such as Daughtry versus Papa Roach, Earth, Wind & Fire versus The War & Treaty, and Fat Joe competing against Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias. Additionally, the season will showcase a matchup between David Foster and Katharine McPhee against Clay Aiken.
