Cardi B denies allegations of assaulting security guard.

Cardi B has testified in court that she did not assault a security guard who is suing her for alleged attack.
Emani Ellis accuses the rapper of cutting her cheek with a 3-inch (7.5cm) fingernail and spitting on her during a confrontation outside a Los Angeles obstetrician’s office in 2018, claiming the incident left her “deeply traumatized.”
On Tuesday, Cardi B told the civil trial that Ellis had followed and filmed her without consent as she arrived for a pregnancy appointment that had not yet been made public. The rapper admitted confronting Ellis but firmly denied any physical violence. “I didn’t touch her,” she said. “It was just a verbal exchange, nothing physical at all.”
She acknowledged yelling an obscenity at Ms. Ellis and telling her to “get out of my face,” adding, “We were basically shouting at each other.”
Her attorney argued that the rapper had been concerned for the safety of her unborn child and accused Ms. Ellis of “changing your story.”
Earlier, Ms. Ellis testified that she only exclaimed the rapper’s name out of excitement upon seeing her, but denied alerting anyone to her presence or recording her.
Ms. Ellis alleges that the rapper accused her of trying to leak news of her doctor’s visit, then launched into insults and threats before physically attacking her.
A plastic surgeon testified that he treated Ms. Ellis in 2022 for a “hyper-sensitive” scar on her cheek, which he said was “most likely” caused by fingernails.
In 2020, Ms. Ellis filed a lawsuit against the star, accusing her of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and false imprisonment.
