Diddy Comes Clean: Assault on Cassie Ventura Exposed in Viral Video, Sparks Outrage and Calls for Justice.

Sean “Diddy” Combs openly acknowledged assaulting his former girlfriend in a hotel corridor back in 2016, following the release of a CNN video capturing the attack. Expressing deep regret, he issued a public apology via Instagram and Facebook, admitting his actions were “truly sorry” and “inexcusable.”

Taking full accountability for his behavior, the music icon stated, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.” The distressing footage, aired on Friday, depicts Combs, clad in only a white towel, physically assaulting Cassie, an R&B artist who was his protégée and longtime partner at the time. The video further reveals instances of Combs pushing, dragging, and hurling a vase in Cassie’s direction.

In November, Cassandra Ventura, known as Cassie, filed a lawsuit against Combs, alleging years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Although the suit was resolved the following day, it triggered significant scrutiny of Combs. Subsequently, several more lawsuits were filed in the ensuing months, alongside a federal criminal sex-trafficking investigation. This investigation prompted authorities to conduct raids on Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami.

He refuted the accusations in the lawsuits, but neither he nor his representatives addressed the newly surfaced video until Sunday.

“It’s incredibly challenging to confront the darkest chapters of your life, but sometimes it’s necessary,” Diddy expresses in the video. He continues, “I sought professional help. I underwent therapy and rehab. I pleaded for God’s mercy and grace. I’m deeply sorry. But I’m dedicated to becoming a better person each day. I’m not seeking forgiveness. I’m genuinely apologetic.”

In the selfie-style apology video, Combs appears solemn, wearing a T-shirt, and seemingly situated on a patio. This marks the hip-hop mogul’s most direct response following six months of allegations that have jeopardized his reputation and career. Previous statements were issued through his legal representatives.

The security footage, dated March 5, 2016, closely aligns with the incident described in Ventura’s lawsuit, which reportedly occurred at an InterContinental Hotel in the Century City area of Los Angeles.

According to the lawsuit, Combs allegedly paid the hotel $50,000 for the security footage shortly after the incident. However, neither he nor his representatives have directly addressed this specific allegation. CNN did not disclose how it obtained the footage.

Combs faces no imminent risk of criminal prosecution for the assault. The statutes of limitations for potential assault and battery charges, which he could have faced, expired several years ago.
