Halle Bailey and DDG Drama Just Got Worse!

The drama between Halle Bailey and her ex, popular streamer DDG, over their son Halo has taken another serious turn. Previously, in mid-May, Bailey was granted a court-ordered restraining order against DDG after accusations of physical and verbal abuse. As part of the ruling, DDG must stay 100 yards away from Bailey and their son and is banned from posting about them on social media. The judge also allowed Bailey to take Halo with her to Italy for her film project.

It seems DDG is trying to block Bailey from taking Halo overseas, as shown by his latest legal action on Wednesday. Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that the streamer is requesting an emergency hearing to prevent the trip, citing concerns about Bailey’s mental state and past incidents he claims indicate her instability. Additionally, DDG is asking for sole legal and physical custody of their son, or, if not granted, for custodial exchanges to be supervised by a third party.

Screenshots of the texts mentioned were shared on social media shortly after news of DDG’s legal filing broke. In the messages, Bailey does threaten to harm herself, but it appears to be in response to DDG allegedly sleeping with another woman while they were still in a relationship. The texts also reveal Bailey’s anger over DDG’s alleged lack of support with her and the baby, his negative remarks about her to his fans, other women, and his family, and her feelings of being overwhelmed by him “ruining” her life. It’s important to note that if the timeline is accurate, these messages were sent while Bailey was struggling with severe postpartum depression.

Back in April 2024, just three months after giving birth, Bailey opened up about her experience with postpartum depression, saying:

“Before I had a child, I would hear people talk about postpartum, but it would just go in one ear and out the other. I didn’t realize how serious it actually was. Now, going through it, it feels like you’re swimming in an ocean with the biggest waves you’ve ever felt, trying not to drown and gasping for air.”

When the texts and DDG’s filing surfaced on social media, many were outraged by what they saw as an attempt by the streamer to paint a damaging narrative about Bailey. Some criticized him for seemingly weaponizing her postpartum struggles, while others argued that he was using this as a reason to claim custody of their child.

“DDG is sick as hell. Those screenshots don’t prove his innocence, nor do they prove anything about Halle. It’s textbook postpartum/reactive abuse, and as someone who survived YEARS of domestic abuse, THIS is how men get away with it—pushing people to the edge and then playing the victim,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.

Another user added, “Halle Bailey keeps using that soft, sweet, innocent voice the whole time—she needs to be put in a straightjacket.”

“Halle Bailey doing all this and claiming DDG is the aggressor is honestly hilarious,” said another user.
