High Voltage Press-Ons: The Inflation-Proof Nail Solution.
Jordan Williams, founder of High Voltage Nails, is leaving her mark on the DIY beauty scene.

As inflation in the beauty industry mirrors the economy, rising costs are pushing many to explore alternatives to traditional treatments. People from all walks of life are embracing DIY solutions for lashes, hairstyles, and nails.
Jordan Williams founded High Voltage Nails to tap into the self-maintenance trend. She offers a variety of stylish, ready-to-wear press-on nails at an affordable price.
Williams started by experimenting with traditional in-person nail applications but soon realized the environment limited her creativity.
“I felt defeated; the pressure was intense. Clients were right in front of me, and the process took so long,” she shared.
While the pandemic was challenging for many, it became a blessing for the self-described “beauty school dropout.”
Channeling her creativity and entrepreneurial drive, she launched High Voltage Nails in 2019, offering handmade press-on nails with distinctive designs. With more people at home during quarantine, many took the opportunity to learn DIY beauty routines, and Williams seized the moment to grow her business.
Living by High Voltage’s motto to “stay pressed but never pressed,” customers are enjoying the convenience and affordability of press-on nails without the hassle of long salon waits or high beauty service costs.
“We all feel our best when we look our best. This business is authentic and comes from the heart,” Williams shared.
With nearly 50 unique nail designs, Jordan runs her business solo for now. However, she plans to grow by training design techs and expanding her already successful brand. When asked what sets her apart, she highlighted the diversity of her offerings.
“I believe we offer the widest variety in nail shape, size, color, and design. We have short, long, extra-long nails, and even custom sets. When customers send me custom designs, I’m often amazed by the inspiration behind them, thinking, ‘Who could create this?'”
The answer is Jordan and High Voltage—able to bring those designs to life and beyond.
High Voltage Nails has expanded to include jewelry, a smart marketing move that capitalized on the connection between nail art and accessories. Jordan noticed that most interactions stemmed from models showcasing nail designs paired with rings, so she introduced jewelry to her offerings. The collection quickly grew to include anklets, earrings, and bracelets, though they often sell out fast.
Williams continues to network and plan strategies to keep her brand front and center. In 2024, she launched the Manicure and Mimosas event in Washington, D.C., bringing together influencers and business owners in the beauty industry. The event proved so successful that it will expand to New York in the summer of 2025.
As she nears her 31st birthday, Williams is set to host the Vixens Day Party. Shifting her focus to celebrating life, the entrepreneur is determined to create lasting products and branded events.
High Voltage Nails boasts a strong inventory and will soon expand to include manicure tools, lashes, a wider jewelry selection, and even more unique, diverse nail sets.
