Kimora Lee Simmons accuses ex of spreading ‘lies’ about his efforts to win their children’s love.

Kimora Lee Simmons has taken aim at her ex-husband, Russell Simmons, over his claims that he’s “fighting” for their children’s love amid ongoing online drama.

The 50-year-old TV personality, who recently revealed she doesn’t maintain a relationship with the fathers of her kids, took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to call out what she labeled as his “lies.”

The former couple, who were married from 1998 until their separation in 2006 (with their divorce finalized three years later), share two daughters: Ming Lee, 25, and Aoki Lee, 23.

He also alleged that she “threatened” he would “never speak to [their] kids again” if he took legal action against her.

In response, the fashion designer fired back with a brief Instagram message: “My ‘girls’ are GROWN WOMEN! You know these are lies. Why are you typing from thousands of miles away in a non-extradition country? Go negotiate and answer your accusers.”

Simmons was referring to Russell’s move to Bali in 2017 following sexual assault allegations, which he has denied.

The Daily Mail reached out to Russell Simmons’ representatives for comment but has not received a response.

In addition to her two daughters with Russell, the fashion designer is also a mother to Kenzo, 16, with Djimon Hounsou, and Wolfe, 10, with her ex-husband Tim Leissner.

Simmons also adopted a son, Gary, now 16, and has a “bonus son,” Jayden, 19.

In a recent interview with People, the media personality revealed that she doesn’t really maintain relationships with the fathers of her children.

“Usually I’d say I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time. I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s challenging, and sometimes I don’t know what other people are thinking. Guys are weird,” she said.

She added, “I’m always ‘the mom.’ I mother people all around me. When someone tells me, ‘I’ve come to you as a mom or best friend in my head,’ that’s what I live for.”

Simmons also shared that her “life doesn’t ever revolve around a guy, ever,” expressing gratitude for being “able to be there for my family in ways that other people or parents are not.”

“If I wasn’t this person, I don’t know if we would’ve made it or been okay. It’s been very important for me to stay strong, self-reliant, and always keep growing,” she added.

Shortly after her remarks surfaced, Russell responded on Instagram Threads.

“I gave you $50,000 a month for 20 years. I was your best—and only—friend. I’m the godfather to your three kids, until one day you stole my stock,” he wrote.

He went on to claim, “I have been fighting for my kids’ love and my livelihood ever since. You threatened that if I sued you, I would never speak to my kids again. There are two sides to every story.”

In 2023, Simmons had accused Russell of abuse and later described herself as a “single mom.”

She had previously shared a clip of her ex-husband scolding their daughter Aoki, to which he later apologized for being “frustrated and yelling.”

Simmons told People, “Some people were like, ‘Oh, how spoiled does she sound, that you are never going to work again, that your dad has to get you everything?’

“But she wasn’t saying, ‘My dad has to get me everything.’ She was saying, ‘My dad has threatened to cancel everything he could because they were his friends and he was the more popular or powerful one—and that’s wrong.’”

The reality star added, “I don’t have to do that,” while noting that Russell has “overstated” his role in their daughters’ lives.

She went on to say, “Men—powerful men, famous men, wealthy businessmen, whatever you want to call it—there’s something there, and I don’t really have a great relationship with any of them. They’ve left me to handle things on my own. I do everything myself. Like I always say, I’m a single mom.”

Earlier this month, Simmons revealed that she also serves as a “surrogate mom” to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 18-year-old twin daughters.

The TV personality discussed motherhood during an appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends.

Combs welcomed D’Lila and Jessie with the late Kim Porter, who passed away at 47 in 2018 from lobar pneumonia. During their on-and-off relationship from 1994 to 2007, the couple also had a son, Christian, 26.

Simmons was asked about her role as a “surrogate mom” to other children in her life.

“I have my kids, and then I have kids on the side,” the model explained. “I have a stepdaughter—well, an additional daughter—and another son, a bonus son, Jaden, who’s on the show, plus another who’s been with us for many years.”

She added, “One of my friends who passed away, Kim Porter, I have all of her kids. Some are adults, but some are 18, like the twins.”

When asked if the twins “come to” her, Simmons said, “Yeah, they’re with me. I just got off the phone with them. I’m a lot of people’s mom.”

Meanwhile, the music artist is currently serving time in prison after being charged with two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
