Serena Williams’ Act of Kindness: Sharing Excess Breast Milk with Needy Families.

“Somebody’s getting really strong milk.”

Serena Williams is playing her part in assisting new parents facing challenges. In a video shared on Instagram, the tennis superstar, who welcomed her second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August, revealed her act of kindness by donating her surplus breast milk to individuals unable to breastfeed their infants. Williams showcased a freezer filled with packets of her extra breast milk following a recent trip to New York. She explained that after passing a screening, she chose to donate it instead of bringing it home. In her caption, she expressed, “I know so many amazing women that adopt or are unable to make milk. It felt amazing.” She also humorously added, “By the way, someone out there is getting some super soldier milk. 🤭.

In the brief video, Serena expressed her enthusiasm for donating to those in genuine need, emphasizing that the recipients won’t be aware it’s her breast milk. She elaborated, “It’ll be done anonymously, but I’m extremely eager to contribute in any way possible.”

Supporters commended Serena for her generous gesture in the comments section of her post. One user shared, “My baby was adopted and suffered from severe dairy allergies, so we relied on donated milk. It was an incredible gift to us, and I’m always filled with gratitude when I think about it.” Another commenter wrote, “I was a premature baby who depended on donated breast milk, and now I’m a healthy 30-year-old. It’s truly an incredible thing to do!”

A third individual added, “Women supporting women in the most fundamental and compassionate way.”

Serena’s donation comes shortly after she found an alternative use for her surplus milk. On TikTok, the Grand Slam champion informed her fans that she had a sunburn beneath her eye and intended to experiment with using breast milk to treat it. In the video, she stated, “I was out in the sun … long story short. Anyway, I’m giving breast milk a shot. It works for my child — they say to use breast milk for everything, and I have a surplus, so I’m going to apply it under my eye for a week or so to see how it works.”

In her post’s description, she shared the outcome, stating, “Is this completely unusual??? I must admit, after applying MY breast milk under my eye for a week, it actually worked! I’m really curious to know your opinions.”
