Summer Lee Accuses James Comer of Slur in Epstein Files Meeting.

The meeting focused on Attorney General Pam Bondi’s handling and public release of the Epstein files.
U.S. Rep. Summer Lee says James Comer called her a “b-tch” during a closed-door meeting about the Epstein files.
The Pennsylvania congresswoman told a reporter she was frustrated with how the meeting unfolded with Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee. “I just walked out of a fake deposition…a fake hearing, where Chairman Comer called me a b***,” she said, according to BET News.
The hearing intensified over Attorney General Pam Bondi and the potential fallout from her handling of the Epstein files. Bondi has been subpoenaed regarding the documents tied to the conviction of Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier found guilty of sex trafficking.
Summer Lee attempted to push for impeachment over what she described as a botched rollout of the files, which reportedly led to a tense exchange with James Comer.
“[Bondi] has not complied with our subpoena under the Epstein Transparency Act to release the full, unredacted files. She’s been withholding them and obstructing justice since last July. Only recently did we secure bipartisan support to subpoena her and bring her before the committee,” Lee said.
According to CNN Chief White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins, Comer used the term “bitching” during the exchange, suggesting Lee was wasting time while attempting to introduce articles of impeachment. “You’ve wasted three minutes of everyone’s time just kind of, bitching…,” he reportedly said.
Comer, however, maintained that the remark was not directed solely at Lee, saying his criticism was aimed broadly at Democrats involved in the case against Bondi while standing by his choice of words.
“FACT CHECK: True,” James Comer said. “I said Democrats were ‘bitching’ and wasting everyone’s time because that’s exactly what was happening.”
Summer Lee, however, said she experienced the remark as a direct personal attack, particularly as a Black woman in politics. As tensions persist over Pam Bondi’s refusal to comply with Democratic demands, party members continue to call on GOP lawmakers to hold her accountable for the delayed release of the Epstein files.
