Marking the commencement of LGBTQ Pride month, Glamour UK, an esteemed online women’s magazine under CondĂ© Nast, unveiled its Pride cover issue on Thursday. The magazine has previously highlighted influential figures from the LGBTQ community, including Grammy-winning artist Kim Petras and “Queer Eye” cast member Antoni Porowski.

This year’s issue embraces the alliance between women, cisgender or not, and transgender individuals by delving into our shared experiences, particularly pregnancy, healthcare, and childbirth, as elucidated by the magazine.

The cover story, conducted two weeks prior to Brown’s delivery of his daughter Nova, chronicles the extraordinary journey of the cover star, including his unexpected pregnancy and the challenges of navigating the medical system as a transgender man.

During the interview, Brown also revealed that after announcing their pregnancy on social media, he and his partner, Bailey J Mills, a renowned drag performer and U.K. TikTok star, encountered a blend of encouraging and adverse comments.

Reflecting on the challenges he faced, Brown expressed in the interview, “Pregnancy itself is already incredibly demanding, but when you factor in my transgender identity and the unique circumstances surrounding it, not once has anyone asked me, ‘How are you doing?‘”

According to a survey conducted in 2021 by TransActual, a U.K. advocacy group, an alarming 90% of transgender individuals in the country reported encountering significant delays while seeking healthcare related to their transition.

Despite facing criticism, the cover star expressed his determination to enlighten those who may hold misconceptions about transgender individuals. Brown revealed to Glamour that he is currently working on a children’s book and an autobiography that focuses on his pregnancy journey, aiming to provide support and guidance to fellow transgender individuals. He hopes that his works will serve as valuable resources not only for the transgender community but also for those who are curious and seek understanding about the unique circumstances surrounding trans pregnancies.
