Gypsy Rose Blanchard to Divorce Ryan Scott Anderson After Brief Marriage.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has initiated divorce proceedings from Ryan Scott Anderson, ending their marriage of less than two years. According to online records verified by Us Weekly, the 32-year-old Blanchard submitted the legal documents on Monday, April 8.

In March, it was reported that the couple had separated. People magazine noted that Blanchard made a statement on her private Facebook account, saying, “People have been inquiring about my personal life. Sadly, my husband and I are separating, and I have relocated to my parents’ house down the bayou. I am fortunate to have the support of my family and friends during this time. I’m trying to follow my heart. Currently, I need space to discover my true self.”

Following the announcement of her separation, Blanchard has been seen in Louisiana alongside her former fiancé Ken Urker. The two, who got engaged in 2018 but ended their relationship in 2019, have matching tattoos. On the other hand, Anderson publicly addressed the breakup for the first time earlier this month, revealing to the Daily Mail his struggles, saying, “I’m not doing well with this.” He expressed surprise at the split, noting he was unaware that Blanchard still harbored significant feelings for Urker.

Three months after her release from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, where she served seven years for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s relationship ended. She had plotted the murder with her boyfriend at the time, Nicholas Godejohn. Gypsy Rose pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a 10-year sentence but was paroled in September 2023 and released in December of the same year.

While still incarcerated in 2020, Gypsy Rose established a connection with Anderson after he wrote her a letter. They married two years later in a prison ceremony.

Following Gypsy’s release, she and her partner started living together but reportedly faced marital difficulties. According to her friend Nadiya Vizier, Blanchard once secluded herself in her bathroom in Lake Charles, Louisiana, while Anderson loudly knocked on the door during the late hours.

Vizier claimed to People that Anderson confronted Gypsy aggressively, saying he yelled in her face. Following an incident where Gypsy barricaded herself in a bathroom and Anderson demanded entry, yelling, “Let me in! Let me in!”, she contacted a family member for a ride. Vizier shared with the magazine that Gypsy feared physical harm, a concern stemming from past experiences with her mother, though no violence occurred in this instance. Gypsy managed to reach safety and also reached out to her attorney. Describing Ryan as physically imposing, Vizier noted Gypsy found the confrontation very frightening.

After this incident, Gypsy is said to have collected her things and moved to her father’s residence in Cut Off, Louisiana.
