Kesha’s Liberation: After Leaving Dr. Luke’s Label, She Declares, ‘I Haven’t Felt This Free Since I Was 18’

Kesha Embraces a Fresh Start Following Her Exit from Dr. Luke’s Record Label.

The 36-year-old singer shared a video of herself running towards the beach, captioning it, ‘I haven’t experienced this level of freedom since I was 18.’ Fans interpreted the post as a reference to her decade-long legal dispute with Dr. Luke, 50, and his record label.

Kesha has refrained from offering explicit comments on her departure from Kemosabe Records, but her recent social media posts hint at a newfound sense of happiness. On December 18, the singer shared a nude photograph of herself standing in a lake surrounded by rocks, accompanied by the caption, ‘Coming back home to me ❤️.’

Additionally, Kesha’s former management company, Vector Management, confirmed her separation from Dr. Luke’s firm on the same date, with a representative stating, ‘Jack Rovner confirms, after 16 years, Kesha and Vector Management have amicably decided to part ways, with much love and respect.’

Kesha’s evident happiness has sparked celebration among her fans, who are leaving encouraging remarks on her videos. One supporter commented on her latest post, saying, “You’ve earned this freedom.” Another shared, “Congratulations! Embrace this new chapter in your life!” Yet another admirer expressed, “CONGRATS! Your remarkable journey will continue to inspire women for generations. You’ve emerged victorious.”

Kesha collaborated with Lukasz Gottwald, known professionally as Dr. Luke, for her initial two albums, “Animal” in 2010 and “Warrior” in 2012. However, in 2014, the singer initiated a legal action against the producer, accusing him of sexual assault, battery, and harassment. Dr. Luke countered these allegations by filing a defamation lawsuit against Kesha, denying any wrongdoing.

Even though the pop star withdrew her legal action in 2016, Dr. Luke continued to pursue his defamation lawsuit, originally scheduled for a trial in July but ultimately resolved through an out-of-court settlement.

In June, a message on Kesha’s TikTok account stated, ‘Kesha and Dr. Luke have reached a resolution in the lawsuit and have mutually decided to issue and share a joint statement regarding this resolution.

At that moment, Kesha remarked, ‘Only God knows what occurred that night,’ in reference to Dr. Luke’s alleged assault. She continued by saying, ‘As I’ve consistently maintained, I cannot recount every detail of what transpired. I am eager to put an end to this chapter of my life and embark on a fresh one. My only wish is for peace for all those involved.’

Dr. Luke continues to assert his innocence, stating at the time of the settlement, “I never administered drugs or engaged in any assault, and I would never harm anyone in that manner.” He added, “I’ve vigorously defended my reputation for nearly a decade, primarily for the well-being of my family.

In May, Kesha unveiled “Gag Order,” her fifth and ultimate album produced under Kemosabe Records.
