A 14-year-old girl was taking an evening stroll through her quiet Midwestern neighborhood when a stranger in a black car approached her, turning a peaceful walk into a terrifying ordeal.

A 14-year-old Michigan girl was enjoying a walk through her quiet neighborhood when a man driving a black car allegedly pulled up beside her and launched a sudden attack.
The incident occurred on May 12 along Rondo Street SE in Kentwood, a city located about two and a half hours west of Detroit, according to local authorities.
Surveillance video released by the police appears to show 29-year-old John Moore exiting the driver’s seat and aggressively rushing toward the teen before striking at her.
The footage released by police ends before any contact is shown. The victim’s image was blurred to protect her identity and privacy.
According to investigators, Moore allegedly physically assaulted the 14-year-old and attempted to restrain her as she walked along the sidewalk.
Authorities said the teen fought back, causing Moore minor injuries before he fled the scene in his vehicle.
Police also allege that Moore was involved in another attack roughly 90 minutes earlier. In that incident, a 66-year-old woman was working in her yard on Poinsettia Avenue SE when Moore allegedly stopped his car, made unwanted advances toward her, and then physically assaulted her.
Investigators were able to identify Moore as the suspect in both incidents after speaking with witnesses and analyzing surveillance video.
He was taken into custody within 24 hours and booked into the Kent County Correctional Facility in Grand Rapids.
Moore faces charges of assault and battery and unlawful imprisonment. As of Wednesday evening, he remained jailed. Court records also indicate he was charged with two probation violations, bringing the total bond for all four charges to $140,000.
According to reports, Moore had previously been placed on probation following incidents that included secretly recording women and later allegedly grabbing women at Meijer stores. In one case, a woman reportedly discovered him filming after noticing him looking into her restroom stall, while surveillance footage allegedly captured another inappropriate recording in a common area of the store.
Last year, Moore was accused of approaching women inside a Meijer store, falsely telling them there was a spider on their back before allegedly touching them inappropriately.
Prosecutors said three women reported similar encounters. Moore ultimately received credit for the six months he had already spent in jail and was sentenced to three years of probation in August. He was also required to register as a sex offender.
During sentencing, his public defender described him as a kind and patient individual, arguing that the offenses did not reflect his true character. She added that Moore had used his time in jail to confront and address possible substance abuse issues.
Authorities have not yet indicated whether Moore has secured legal representation for the latest charges. The Kentwood Police Department has not provided additional comment on the case.
