Attorney, entrepreneur, and cultural strategist Tiffany M. Simmons, Esq., widely recognized as “The Plug’s Lawyer,” is embarking on a new chapter of institution-building after receiving official recognition from the Atlanta City Council for her impact across law, culture, philanthropy, and community service.

The official proclamation, issued on May 1, 2026, recognizes Simmons’ vision for The Lawyer Museum—a permanent, world-class institution in Atlanta dedicated to preserving, documenting, and celebrating the legacy of Black attorneys and their enduring contributions to justice in America.

For more than 16 years, Simmons has built a powerful presence across the legal, media, publishing, philanthropic, and cultural sectors—largely without the support of traditional institutions or gatekeepers. Through Simmons Law LLC and media ventures such as Hood Court, she has earned recognition for bridging legal expertise with meaningful cultural dialogue that resonates far beyond the courtroom.

Today, that vision is expanding into a broader mission: a public movement focused on preserving legal history, creating impactful cultural experiences, and establishing lasting institutions that will serve future generations.

“This is bigger than a museum,” Simmons said. “This is about documenting history while we are still living it, preserving the brilliance of Black attorneys, and creating a permanent space where culture, justice, education, and legacy meet.”

The proclamation highlights Simmons’ leadership in advancing The Lawyer Museum initiative and recognizes her contributions to civic engagement, philanthropy, mentorship, and cultural advancement throughout the City of Atlanta.

Throughout the spring and summer of 2026, a series of public events hosted under The Plug’s Lawyer brand will help raise funds for the future permanent home of The Lawyer Museum in Atlanta.

The events included:

Champions Coachella — the premier fundraising event held on May 1, 2026, that united influential leaders from the legal, media, philanthropic, and arts communities.

Reiki for Youth — a Mother’s Day wellness initiative designed to promote healing, mindfulness, and emotional well-being among young people.

Paddles & Pours — a cultural summer gathering scheduled for June 21, 2026, in Atlanta, bringing together music, community, wellness, and philanthropy in a unique shared experience.

In addition to leading these initiatives, Simmons is documenting the journey toward opening The Lawyer Museum in real time. The process is expected to form the basis of a future documentary exploring the intersections of law, influence, culture, resilience, and legacy-building in contemporary America.

The Lawyer Museum is anticipated to open its permanent home in Atlanta by December 2026.
