Kesha Stirs Up Coachella Crowd with Daring “TiK ToK” Lyric Swap Aimed at P. Diddy.

Reneé Rapp brought the pop star onstage to perform a new version of her 2009 hit song.

Coachella’s first star-studded weekend was packed with surprises, celebrity appearances, and memorable moments. During Reneé Rapp’s performance, Kesha made a cameo, energizing the audience with her iconic song, “Tik ToK.” She infused the performance with a bold statement against a controversial entertainment industry figure.

Following an enthusiastic introduction by the Mean Girls star, Kesha was greeted with cheers as she took the stage. She started her song with the provocative line, “Wake up in the morning like fuck P. Diddy,” and gestured a middle finger, much to the crowd’s excitement.

In the original version of the 2009 song, Kesha begins with the line, “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy,” which is followed by a short series of ad libs from the R&B and hip-hop producer.

This isn’t Kesha’s first instance of altering the lyrics of “Tik Tok” to make a statement directed at the rapper. In November, during a performance at Los Angeles’s Hollywood Palladium, she modified the song’s opening line to “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me,” deliberately omitting his name altogether.

The modifications to the song’s lyrics coincide with recent accusations against P. Diddy. In November, Cassie Ventura brought a lawsuit against the producer, alleging she suffered years of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse at his hands. The lawsuit was settled within 24 hours of its filing, but it was quickly followed by several explosive allegations. These ranged from claims of Diddy sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl to accusations by producer Lil Rod that Diddy was involved in harassment, drug and sex trafficking, a shooting, and other criminal activities.
