Olympic champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates are an unbeatable duo, both in competition and in life.

Their partnership, which began on the ice in the 2011-2012 season, blossomed into romance by 2017.

Bates shared with Us Weekly in February 2018 that their love blossomed on the ice, bringing them closer. He revealed his teenage crush on Chock, admiring her vibrant personality and her enthusiasm for life.

Bates and Chock’s pursuit of Olympic gold continues to influence their romantic relationship.

Bates explained to Us that their training regimen leads to a low-key lifestyle, involving staying in and early nights. After a five-year relationship, he popped the question in Thailand in June 2022. As they plan for their 2024 wedding, competing together remains a joy for them.

Bates and Chock became partners for the season. Bates had previously finished 11th at the 2010 Olympics with former partner Emily Samuelson.

Bates and Chock expanded their family by adopting two toy poodles, Stella and Henry.

Chock and Bates participated as a team in the Olympic Games in 2014, 2018, and 2022. During the Beijing tournament in 2022, they were appointed as co-captains of the ice skating team.

Initially, Chock, Bates, and the rest of Team USA secured the silver medal, trailing the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) in the team figure skating event. However, following an extensive investigation, ROC’s leading athlete Kamila Valieva was found guilty of doping, resulting in Team USA being elevated to gold medal status.

The whole experience was quite unforeseen,” Chock reflected during a “Today” show interview alongside Bates and their teammates. “We were in the dark for so long, with everyone asking us questions. … I didn’t understand the extent of the burden I, and likely all of us, were carrying until we received the news.
