Tiffany Haddish Shakes Off Car Accident to Record a Podcast.

During her appearance on “Armchair Expert,” the comedian revealed that the crash had left her “trembling.”

Tiffany Haddish didn’t let a car accident stop her from appearing on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast. She discussed the incident right at the start of her May 6 session, visibly shaken but unharmed. Shepard offered her tea and snacks to help her settle in, and while Haddish assured everyone she was okay, she confessed the experience had left her quite shaken.

“As the car spun, I started trembling a bit and wondered, ‘Where did my phone go?’ It had flown out of its holder, hitting my arm and leg,” she shared. She then picked her phone up from the floor and moved her car to safety, relieved that no other vehicles were approaching.

Shepard, who picked Haddish up from the accident site, mentioned, “You were knocked into oncoming traffic, and luckily, there was no traffic.” Haddish explained that moving the car was difficult, but she managed to get it out of harm’s way. Shepard commented on the struggle, noting the long skid mark left by the car as it was driven on three wheels.

During the incident, Shepard pointed out that several bystanders recognized her. Haddish humorously reflected on whether to exaggerate her reaction for the crowd, saying, “I was thinking about whether to act really hurt,” she joked. “Initially, I wanted to jump out and scold everyone, but then I remembered, ‘You’re famous, you can’t act like that. It’s not appropriate.’

She continued, talking about the other driver, “Then I saw the guy get out of his car and start walking towards me. He asked if I was okay and exclaimed, ‘Oh, s—. I hit my favorite person.’ I was still holding my phone, wondering who to call first, all while trembling.” Haddish humorously questioned if she knew the man from somewhere before, even wondering if they had past encounters at a comedy club or elsewhere.

She eventually called her sister and while waiting, she recognized the other driver as someone from her past comedy days at The Comedy Store in L.A. Shepard noted that the driver was exceptionally good-looking, jokingly calling it a “meet cute” scenario.

Haddish, feeling some discomfort, asked aloud if her face looked swollen, admitting it was painful. Shepard, concerned, offered to drive her home, but Haddish declined, saying she would only end up crying if she went home. Despite the discomfort, they continued with the podcast recording while Padman and Shepard arranged for someone to bring ice for Haddish’s face, impressed by her resolve to continue.

Padman remarked on Haddish’s commitment, saying, “Most celebrities would’ve skipped the podcast after a car accident, but not you. You even called to say, ‘I got in this car accident and I’ll still do it.’ I heard that and thought, are you kidding me?”

Haddish responded confidently, “I’m not bleeding, I’m not broken. I can still talk and communicate.”
