Black Maternal Crisis: Dallas Regional Medical Center Nurse Ignored Laboring Woman’s Pain to Ask Irrelevant Questions.

A now-viral video has sparked accusations that Dallas Regional Medical Center mistreated a Black woman in active labor.

A mother is speaking out against Dallas Regional Medical Center after allegedly witnessing her daughter being mistreated while in active labor.

A viral TikTok posted by user kashman2814 has drawn major attention to the incident, accusing staff of medical negligence toward a Black woman in labor. The video—garnering more than 18 million views by Nov. 14—shows the woman screaming in pain in a wheelchair as staff continue to ask routine check-in questions.

In a separate six-minute video, the TikTok user provided additional details about her daughter’s delivery, saying they were initially told to wait for an induction because no beds were available. When her daughter’s water broke and she returned to give birth, the alleged mistreatment occurred.

She says they were instructed to enter the hospital through the front entrance—even though they had arrived near the ambulance bay and her daughter was already in active labor. When they asked for a wheelchair, a nurse brought one out but reportedly refused to help the laboring mother inside.

Once indoors, the woman was screaming in pain, but front-desk staff allegedly said they could not help until paperwork was completed. After signing multiple forms while in active labor, she was moved to another waiting area. The viral video shows her still in severe pain as staff continue asking intake questions, further delaying her care.

Following the incident, the TikTok user publicly criticized Dallas Regional Medical Center, accusing the staff of mistreating Black women.

“Do not go to this hospital. This hospital is ghetto as hell. They do not care about Black women or their babies,” she said. “This is crazy. I read about stuff like this all the time, but to see this firsthand—the lady did not care, none of them did.”

Viewers have rallied behind the family in criticizing the hospital. One TikTok user said that when they called to file a complaint, the hospital operator acknowledged knowing about the viral video but only asked whether the caller had a medical emergency.

“I CALLED THE HOSPITAL EARLIER TODAY TO FILE A COMPLAINT after watching your videos,” the commenter wrote. “The operator said she was aware of the video and asked if I was there and why I was calling. At that moment I remembered I’d worked in healthcare for 14 years and asked to be transferred to RISK MANAGEMENT. I spoke with Ms. Patel and filed a complaint!!!!!!!!!!!”

The original TikTok creator also shared another video featuring a former ER nurse who now works in labor and delivery. The nurse expressed outrage over the situation and emphasized the racial bias Black patients—particularly Black women—often face in hospital settings.
